London-listed gaming operator GVC has launched a new online bingo platform in Italy and signed up leading Italian operator Lottomatica to join the revamped network.

The Bingo 3.0 platform will serve the company’s B2C brands in Italy, as well as GVC’s network of 27 B2B partners.

GVC said that the new platform offers “major improvements” over its predecessor, with the frontend lobby and client software now HTML5-based with new game variants introduced, including Italia30, a quick-play 30 ball game, and Zaffiro75, which offers 1, 2, 3 and 4 line prizes.

In addition, quirky ‘smorfia’ voices with regional dialects are featured throughout and gameplay has been speeded up with individual rounds now 14 per cent faster.

“We are excited to unveil our new Italian bingo platform which we believe is now the best in the market,” said GVC chief operating officer Shay Segev. “We are confident our customer’s will love the new games and player experience, while the technical capabilities of the platform means that we are ideally positioned to adapt to any new technical requirements.”

GVC also confirmed that Italian operator Lottomatica has joined the group’s bingo network with immediate effect.

The company said that Lottomatica customers would be able to enjoy an enhanced product offering, with the additional liquidity its player base strengthening GVC’s position as the biggest bingo network in the Italian market.

“The fact that Lottomatica have joined our network is a huge vote of confidence in the new platform and extends our position as the number one bingo operator in Italy,” said bwin Italia managing director Moreno Marasco.

Shares in GVC Holdings plc (LSE:GVC) were trading down 0.51 per cent at 585.00 pence per share in London Tuesday morning.
