Sports content provider Perform has been named as an authorised distributor of Major League Baseball (MLB) data to sports betting operators in the United States.
Perform said that its designation as an official distributor of MLB real-time betting data in the US will enable operators to create new engagement opportunities with the sport.
“We are delighted to add MLB’s official fast data feed to our offering for US-facing sportsbooks and odds providers,” said Andrew Ashenden, chief commercial officer at Perform.
The MLB agreement adds to Perform’s existing data partnerships with major sports leagues, including the English Premier League and Spain’s La Liga.
“It’s an important development for us to partner with Perform as the second Authorized MLB Data Distributor in the U.S. for sports betting operators,” said Kenny Gersh, MLB executive vice-president of Gaming & New Ventures.
“Multiple distributors of our rich, reliable, low latency data will help drive competition and innovation in the sports betting landscape, providing MLB fans with the best gaming experiences possible.”
The MLB agreed a deal in March for Sportradar to serve as its exclusive distributor of real time game statistics and live audio-visual game feeds to operators outside the United States, as well as official real time statistics to media outlets in the US.
Sportradar also has the non-exclusive right to supply MLB real time betting data feeds to regulated sports betting operators in the states.
