Sweden’s Unibet Group plc has reported a 5 per cent increase in gross winnings revenue to £154.4m for the year ended December 31st, following a strong performance during the fourth quarter from the company’s casino and sports betting products.

Gross winnings revenue (GWR) for the fourth quarter increased by 26 per cent to £44.7m, continuing Unibet’s recovery in 2011 following a disappointing first half of the year which saw revenues fall 11 per cent.

“We are very satisfied to announce another quarter with strong organic growth,” said Unibet CEO Henrik Tjärnström. “Our focus on core markets continues to deliver excellent results with all time high revenues for the Nordic region and this growth has been achieved across both the Unibet and Maria brands.
