Gaming and betting operator Ladbrokes has reported an 8.4 per cent increase in net revenues for the first half of 2012, with increased spending on gaming machines at its retail locations the biggest growth driver.

The British bookmaker posted total net revenues of £550.6m for the first half of 2012, a rise of 14 per cent versus the same period a year ago, with a group operating profit up 38 per cent to  £127.4m.
