The number of active online gaming accounts in the regulated French market reached 1.57m in the first quarter of this year, the highest level since the partial market liberalisation of 2010, with all products except cash poker recording year-on-year growth.

According to the latest figures from French gambling regulator ARJEL, online gamblers spent €204m on sports betting during the first quarter of 2013, an increase of 17 per cent year-on-year, generating gross gaming revenues (GGR) of €44m (including a 0.4 per cent decrease in the rate of return to players).
