Despite a strong performance from its North American-facing business, Sportech has reported a 38 per cent drop in net profit to £1.3m for the first six months of 2013, with challenges faced by the company’s online gaming business impacting overall results.

Total revenues remained broadly in line with last year, falling 1 per cent to £57.0, while EBITDA declined by 6 per cent to £11.8m following the challenges experienced in its online gaming business, together with movement in the timing of the one-off Tote system sales from H1 to H2 2013.

Sportech CEO Ian Penrose said: “We have delivered a solid set of results and continue to make strategic and operational progress and build on our unique market position.”
