Acquisition costs weigh heavily on SHFL’s bottom line

US gaming supplier SHFL entertainment has reported a 39 per cent drop in net income to $6.4m for the third quarter ended July 31st, as a result of one-off costs related to its pending acquisition by Bally Technologies as well as increased expenses related to the company’s online gaming business.

Total revenues were up 16 per cent versus a year ago to $73.5m following growth across all of its business segments, in particular Electronic Table Systems.
