The Spanish online gaming market generated gross gaming revenue of €67.9m for the first quarter of 2014, an increase on 9 per cent compared to the same period last year, following strong growth in sports betting which continues to dominate the market.

According to figures released by Spanish regulator Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ), total amounts wagered increased by 9 per cent year-on-year to €1,573.8m during the period. This included a record performance in January with amounts staked of €540.2m.
