A consortium led by the Canadian subsidiary of lotteries and gaming supplier GTECH has been awarded a five-year CAD$5m research grant for the development of a new multi-channel content application platform from the Canadian province of New Brunswick.

The consortium, comprised of GTECH Canada, technology solutions provider T4G, New Brunswick Community College and centre of excellence First Mobile Entertainment, has been awarded the grant through the province’s Industry Innovation Challenge - a $15m fund established in October last year by the New Brunswick Research and Innovation Council.

As part of the project, GTECH Canada will establish an interactive game development team based in the New Brunswick city of Moncton to work on a platform capable of deploying new games across mobile, internet and land-based channels simultaneously.
