Online gaming operator bet365 has recorded an operating profit of £212.0m for the financial year ended March 30th, with strong growth in its mobile offering helping total amounts wagered to increase by 36 per cent during the period.

The company posted turnover of £1.37bn for the year, of which £1.28bn was generated from sports betting and gaming activities, and £86.7m earned through Stoke City Football Club, of which the operator is the sole owner. This represented a 38 per cent year-on-year rise in turnover.

The strong performance was credited to growth in its sports betting offering, with chief executive Denise Coates highlighting the benefit of recent product-enhancing developments and investment.
