Sweden’s Mr Green & Co said Friday that it will make a provision of SEK108m in its accounts for the 2014 year relating to its tax dispute in Austria, although the online casino operator continues to contest the tax liability.

Last October the company announced that it had initiated legal proceedings in Austria to avoid a SEK108m tax bill in the country.

The dispute centres on Austrian legislation implemented in 2011 which requires that online casino operations be taxed at a rate of 40 per cent of sales (gross game win) that originate in the country.
