UK bookmaker Ladbrokes has reported a 38 per cent drop in total operating profit to £41.7m for the first half of 2015, after incurring an operating loss of £11.5m from its digital business.

Including high rollers, total net revenue fell marginally versus a year ago to £588.8m, with a significant decline in telephone betting offsetting growth in the UK retail, European retail, and digital businesses.

Ladbrokes said that results continued to favour customers during the period, while margins remained lower than last year, most notably in sportsbook.
