OPAP’s 2009 Profit Hit By One-Off Tax Charge

Despite total revenues remaining flat for the year ended December 31st 2009, Greek gaming monopoly operator OPAP S.A has reported an 18% fall in net profit to €593.8 million as a result of a one-off tax charge of €98.1 million imposed by the Greek tax authorities during the fourth quarter.

OPAP reported total revenues of €5.44 billion during the year, with growth from numerical games offsetting a decline in sports betting revenues.
