Caesars Interactive Entertainment (CIE) is on course to generate close to $1bn in net revenue for the full 2016 year following a strong first half performance which saw results increase by 31.5 per cent to $477.2m.

The operator said that the increase in revenue was primarily driven by strong organic growth in its social and mobile gaming business Playtika, which was sold to a Chinese consortium earlier this week for $4.4bn.
