French gaming operator PMU has posted a marginal increase in gross gaming revenue for the first nine months of 2016, crediting its emerging international business with offsetting continued declines in its core horse race betting product.

PMU said its business suffered from the current economic climate in France, both across its physical sales network and online, with total amounts wagered in the first three quarters of the year falling 1.6 per cent to €7.16bn, although GGR rose 0.7 per cent to to €1.80bn.
