Legal challenges may well be blocking the arrival of new gaming products and new operators into the Italian online gaming market, but in the meantime the sector is still showing strong growth, although May's annual increase was less dramatic than that of recent months.


Despite an early end to the European football season reducing spend on sports betting, Italy's online gaming sector again showed strong growth in May, with total turnover on all products topping €411m, 22 per cent up on figures registered via the government databases in the same month of 2009 (€336.7m).
