Portugal’s regulated iGaming market saw gross gaming revenue rise by 47 per cent year-on-year to €37.3m for the second quarter of 2018, following a strong performance from both the online casino and sports betting verticals.

Buoyed by the initial stages of the FIFA World Cup, gross gaming revenue from sports betting rose by 47 per cent to €20.5m, with football accounting for 74 per cent of the total, according to the latest figures from Portuguese gambling regulator Serviços de Regulação e Inspeção de Jogos (SRIJ).
