US casino operator Boyd Gaming has reported an 18 per cent drop in revenue to $680.5m in its preliminary results for the first quarter of 2020, with results severely impacted by the closure of all 29 casino venues in March due to COVID-19.
The company said that prior to the closure of its properties in mid-March, the first quarter began strongly with two consecutive months of solid year-over-year growth across nationwide operations.
