PlayStudios has expanded its social gaming rewards programme, launched in partnership with its financial backers MGM Resorts International, to offer real-world prizes at two Mississippi casinos.

The programme, which is available to players through PlayStudios’ myVEGAS app, allows social gamers to win a range of rewards from the Beau Rivage and Gold Strike resorts – both owned by MGM – including complimentary meals, room and hotel suite upgrades and show tickets.

Previously the rewards programme only offered prizes at MGM’s Las Vegas properties including the Bellagio, ARIA, MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay. But in November last year, PlayStudios expanded the programme’s range of partners to coincide with the launch of its mobile app.

Cirque du Soleil, House of Blues, Sugar Factory and the Las Vegas Monorail Company were announced as partners, offer winning players tickets, meals and other prizes through the app.

“Our ability to offer players these new rewards, in new locations, represents an important next step in the evolution of the myVEGAS experience,” PlayStudios chief executive Andrew Pascal said of the Mississippi expansion. “It further demonstrates our commitment to rewarding virtual-world loyalty with real-world value.”

MGM senior vice president of business development Tom Mikulich added that the relationship with PlayStudios had proved to be “tremendously successful” in Las Vegas, prompting the decision to extend the programme to resorts in the south.
