A new daily fantasy sports platform licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority and tailored to European players has gone live, offering users the chance to win cash prizes.

Fanaments went live today (August 6th) featuring a range of football competition based games such as the Barclays Premier League, Spain’s La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.

It also features a number of US sports not traditionally covered by Europe-facing fantasy products, such as the National Basketball Association, Ultimate Fighting Championship and PGA golf events.

Players can choose a different team every day, with the app powered by real-time data to offer the most up-to-date information. It also features a unique game, 1x2 Pick ‘Em, which sees players attempt to correctly predict the results of multiple sports fixtures in order to win a prize pot.

Fanaments will look to build its audience with features such as a 20 per cent lifetime refer a friend scheme, prizes for leaderboard positions, deposit bonuses and minimum tournament guarantees.

It was developed by a trio of Icelandic developers, chief executive Bragi Ægisson, chief product officer Arnor Davidsson and chief technology officer Gudmundur Sveinsson.

“Daily fantasy has become a huge hit in the USA but its more traditional, season-long or weekend-only equivalent in Europe and elsewhere has gone stale,” Ægisson explained. “There are also few options to play for real money on this side of the Atlantic or on any sport other than football.

"We’re very happy to change that and add a new layer of excitement to people’s favourite sport.”
