French video games developer Gameloft has moved into the social casino market with the launch of a new free-to-play app based on the popular US police procedural TV franchise CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
Developed through a partnership with CBS Interactive, the licensing arm of the broadcaster CBS, CSI: Slots is available on iOS, Android and Windows devices.
The slot game features a series of cases that have been written in collaboration with the CSI writing team, offering what Gameloft believes to be a “dynamic and interactive slots game that engages players on a whole new level.”
It combines the investigations of the CSI team with Las Vegas casino locations. Players have to examine crime scenes, interrogate suspects and solve cases by spinning slot machine reels, with each spin bringing them closer to the killers and earning them new rewards.
Players can also interact with key characters in the CSI franchise as they investigate the crimes, unlocking new slot machines as they progress through the game.
“We’re thrilled to partner with CBS Interactive to offer an all-new and totally interactive game concept,” Gameloft senior vice president of publishing Gonzague de Vallois said. “Featuring action and nail-biting intrigue, CSI: Slots promises many hours of gameplay.”
