PokerStars’ free-to-play mobile game Jackpot Poker has gone live on the Playphone game store, with the company specifically marketing to players in Taiwan as part of its initiative to introduce poker to new audiences worldwide.

The launch on Playphone allows new users to play alongside the game's existing player pool from the Apple App Store, Google Play, Facebook and Amazon App Store.

Playphone operates mobile social games stores worldwide, aiming to serve as the number one app store for emerging markets. It is currently used by more than 40 million gamers worldwide.

Each store it operates is customised to a specific region, including preferred regional payment methods, with stores live throughout Southeast Asia, Latin America, Northern America and Europe.

“We are excited to make it easy for players to download and install the mobile Jackpot Poker by PokerStars app in their local dialect,” PokerStars’ director of social gaming Lloyd Melnick commented.

“Gamers in Taiwan and throughout Asia are going to love the fast-paced poker action that they can get from PokerStars on the Jackpot Poker app.”

Playphone senior director of business operations Scott Masters added: “Playphone is thrilled to release Jackpot Poker by PokerStars to our users around the world. Getting to work with PokerStars as a developer partner has been extremely fun and the entire team loves their game.”

PokerStars is working globally to introduce the Jackpot Poker product to new markets and players, with the app recently featuring on the Amazon Fire TV store.
