International Game Technology (IGT) has rolled out its Spin Ferno tournament solution for Seminole Hard Rock Tampa.

The Florida venue becomes the first casino to launch the Spin Ferno product, which is powered by IGT’s Tournament Manager 5.0 software.

It allows operators to host single- or multi-site tournaments on the S3000 cabinet, creating the first automated tournament solution for mechanical reel gaming machines.

The Spin Ferno system has been rolled out across 26 S3000 cabinets, allowing patrons to compete in tournaments on games such as Hotsy Totsy and Hot Lil’ Devil.

“We are thrilled to bring Spin Ferno to market with our partners at Seminole Hard Rock Tampa,” IGT senior vice president of interactive and gaming sales for North America Nick Khin said.

“Spin Ferno extends the capabilities of our globally successful S3000 cabinet and exemplifies IGT's leadership in pairing game and systems innovation to create premium player experiences.”

“It's an honour to be the first casino to have the Spin Ferno technology launch at our property this month,” the casino’s vice president of slot operations Dan Ingster added.

“We first saw the innovative entertainment experience in play at the Global Gaming Expo last year in Las Vegas and felt the game would be a great fit for Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa.

“The technology, game play and tournament flexibility were all key factors when deciding on launching the system.”

Shares in International Game Technology plc. (Co. Data) (NYSE:IGT) closed in New York Thursday down 1.02 per cent at $17.49 per share.
