Gaming technology and services supplier Playtech has added a new side bet to its live casino blackjack game under a licensing deal with exclusive rights holder Games Marketing.

Playtech said that the 21+3 Blackjack side bet will give players more chances to win on every round of blackjack.

The side bet is based on a player’s two cards and the dealer’s up-card. If the three combined cards form a straight, flush, three-of-a-kind, straight flush or suited three-of-a-kind, the player wins the side bet pay-out with enhanced odds.

Popular in land-based casinos, Playtech has licensed 21+3 from London-based developer Games Marketing, the exclusive online rights holder to the game.

Playtech said the side bet game is a “fantastic addition” to its live casino offering, further highlighting the company’s commitment to providing the “ultimate gaming experience for players.”

“The 21+3 side bet is a great addition to the classic live casino Blackjack game and puts the excitement of poker into every hand,” said Kevin Kilminster, Playtech’s head of live casino innovation.

“It will appeal both to those players who are familiar with either card game, as well as new customers who have never played Blackjack before, and we’re delighted to offer even more chances to win.”

Shares in Playtech plc. (Co. Data) (LSE:PTEC) were trading up 0.33 per cent at 914.00 pence per share in London early Thursday, 3 per cent below their 52-week high of 944.50 pence per share set on August 25th.
