US gaming supplier International Game Technology (IGT) has launched its progressive prize pool jackpot Powerbucks with Canadian lottery operator British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC).

Powerbucks links the jackpot pool from the Powerhits slot games at BCLC's 33 land-based gaming venues with the mobile and desktop versions of the game, which are available through PlayNow.com to players in British Columbia and Manitoba.

Powerbucks offers players the chance to win jackpots of CAD$1m or more, with players staking between $0.50 and $2.99 eligible for the static $1m jackpot and those staking $3 or more eligible for the progressive jackpot, which starts at $1 million.

David Flinn, IGT regional vice president for Canada, said the Canadian debut of Powerbucks marks a new milestone in the partnership with BCLC, which began 19 years ago.

"Powerbucks extends IGT's legacy in developing omni-channel products that push the envelope of innovation and transform the way players enjoy gaming entertainment," Flinn said.

Monica Bohm, BCLC vice president of eGaming, added: "Powerbucks delivers a whole new jackpot experience to PlayNow.com players that is unique in North America.

"Players can play Powerbucks for a chance to win jackpots of $1 million or more anytime from their mobile devices, home computers or local casinos."

IGT has been a partner of BCLC for 19 years and a supplier of interactive games to PlayNow.com since 2010.

Shares in International Game Technology (Co. Data) (NYSE:IGT) closed in New York Monday up 2.91 per cent at $23.73 per share. The shares set a new 52-week high of $24.22 per share on September 8th.
