Isle of Man-based gaming supplier Microgaming has marked the start of 2017 with the release of two new games for desktop and mobile devices.
The first, Huangdi The Yellow Emperor, takes players to prehistoric China as they aim to expand their empire at the Battle of Zhuolu, a conflict fought in 2,500BC and the second recorded battle in the history of the country.
With five reels and 25 paylines, the Chinese-themed game includes stacked and expanding symbols, 15 retriggerable free spins, and expanding wilds in both the base and free spin games. From a minimum bet of 0.25, players can win ancient coins worth up to 30,0000 in credit.
The second title, Life of Riches, is a 5 x 3 reel, 30 line game. Players experience the glamorous lifestyle of the rich and famous, matching super yachts, sports cars, private jets to win prizes. The multiplier free spin feature doubles wins and the stacked wild gives an additional x2 multiplier. With a minimum bet of 0.01, players can win up to a maximum of 120,000 in credit.
Both Huangdi The Yellow Emperor and Life of Riches offer players in-game achievements and free games, and went live with Microgaming and Quickfire operators on 4 January.
Microgaming games publisher David Reynolds said it was a great way to start the New Year with two games of contrasting styles.
"Both are built around our engaging gameplay features, but the quality of the graphics, animations and sounds are what really bring these games to life.
"The game development teams work hard to ensure all facets of the games are true to the theme," he explained. "For example, in Huangdi, the low symbols were designed to capture Chinese calligraphy, but the creative team had to ensure that the stroke direction and patterns were accurate when recreated digitally."
