London-listed gaming operator Rank Group has signed a multi-year agreement with Playtech for its Mecca Bingo brand.

The new agreement continues a partnership that began more than a decade ago and sees Playtech continue to serve as the exclusive provider of bingo network software and games for Mecca.

The agreement gives Rank access to exclusive content from Playtech, alongside its Open Platform solution which enables Mecca to also offer third-party content.

"The network is performing well with stakes and active players at their highest ever levels and our licensees have made a great start to 2017," Playtech vice president of UK operations Dan Phillips said.

"Mecca is one of those so we are therefore very pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with the Rank Group and our collaborative approach will help drive their bingo business into the next decade and beyond."

Colin Cole-Johnson, Group Director, Rank Group, said: "It is a suite of products our customers know and love, and this has been an important partnership for Mecca since 2006, so naturally we are pleased that an agreement has been reached to develop this further."

Shares in Playtech plc (Co.Data) (LSE:PTEC) were trading down 0.24 per cent at 824.50 pence per share in London Monday morning, while shares in Rank Group plc (Co.Data) (LSE:RNK) were trading down 0.77 per cent at 192.60 pence per share.
