This week's round-up sees new game releases from the likes of NetEnt, IWG, Yggdrasil and Betsoft, as well as new platform integrations for Endorphina and Highlight Games.
Instant win games provider IWG has developed its first ever game for the retail lottery sector, with Canadian provincial lottery operator Loto-Québec the first to market the new game.
It is based on IWG’s popular Cash Buster title and marks the first time that the company has developed one of its digital games in a physical form.
“This is a truly ground-breaking moment for the instant win sector,” said Rhydian Fisher, chief executive of IWG. “Loto-Quebec have used dual launches online and in retail very effectively with us before but never before has a digital game been turned into a physical ticket – it has always been the other way around in the past.
“It just goes to show how successful Cash Buster has been online for Loto-Québec that they have decided to create a physical game for their retail customers. This is a massive step for IWG and an industry first for Loto Quebec. We are planning to roll out further physical editions of our games to more of our partners in the coming months.”
Clément Aubin, online product team manager at Loto-Québec, added: “Cash Buster has proven to be hugely popular with our online customers, and it made perfect sense for us to offer the same game to our retail players. We have a great working relationship with IWG and they have been extremely helpful in delivering this unique product for our customers. I’m sure it will be as big a hit for the retail sector as it has been online.”
Swedish casino games developer NetEnt has launched its latest slot, bringing to life the bright world of tropical flowers and fluttering butterflies with Butterfly Staxx.
Created in a stylish low poly design, the 5-reel, 4-row, 40-fixed line video slot is set in a paradise of glittering wings and beautiful flora, which immerses players in a kaleidoscope of colour.
Butterfly Staxx features wild substitutions, re-spins and butterfly spins, which incorporates the popular SuperStaxx feature also seen on NetEnt’s successful 80s retro title Neon Staxx.
“The release of Butterfly Staxx builds on a series of fantastic NetEnt game launches in 2017,” said NetEnt chief product officer Simon Hammon. “With its vivid and enchanting graphics – in the popular low poly design – combined with classic gameplay and features, I’m sure Butterfly Staxx will be a successful addition to our award-winning portfolio.”
Cherry’s game development studio Yggdrasil Gaming has released a summer-themed slot game, Spiña Colada.
Taking players to a tropical beach bar, the 5x3 slot utilises Yggdrasil’s updated HTML5 client framework iSENSE 2.0+ and includes a new mobile user interface featuring in-game deposits.
The game features an icy re-spin feature which activates as soon as players hit three or more symbols, with multipliers awarded for each filled column.
As a bonus there are four randomly triggered features: Extra Wilds, 2nd Chance, Guaranteed Win x3 and Full Line. Hitting any of these features for the fourth time starts a free spins round where the respective feature is active on every spin.
“The Freeze & Re-spin with column multiplier has been our signature feature since the dawn of Yggdrasil, and it is now back better than ever,” said Yggdrasil Gaming’s head of slots Jonas Strandman. “The feature is a beautiful composition, creating big excitement from every single win, as well as thrilling moments where you just need to fill that ‘one hole’ to get the multiplier.
“Spina Colada offers the thrill of this core feature alongside big variations from the four bonus features, and the free spins.”

3D slots developer Betsoft Gaming has announced the latest addition to its Slots3 portfolio with the launch of Magic Shoppe.
The five reel, 25 payline 3D video slot is centred around the Celestial Boxes. Three or more Sun Box or Moon Box symbols appearing anywhere on the reels trigger the Free Spins feature. Each Free Spin will result in either a guaranteed win or feature trigger.
The Wild Wand feature in the game will turn certain symbols - Sun Box, Moon Box, and Magic Wand - to Wilds, further increasing the probability of a big win. If three or more Magic Wand symbols appear anywhere on the reels, the feature will be triggered and all Celestial Boxes and Magic Wand symbols will turn Wild.
“We are very pleased to add Magic Shoppe to our Slots3 collection,” said Mark McKeown, Betsoft vice president of sales and marketing. “The art style really brings you into the mysterious mood in the Shoppe, featuring glyphs and other arcane symbolism to enhance the theme. We especially love the free spins round that allows for a guaranteed win or feature trigger, every time. Little wins can add up to a lot, and we are confident that players will truly enjoy this game and all its unique functionality.”

UK-based games developer and platform provider 1X2gaming has rebranded as 1X2 Network.
Commercial director Kevin Reid said the changes reflect the fact that 1X2 has grown so far from the small niche it targeted back in 2002.
“We now offer such a broad range of content and services, that we felt it was time to identify our growing expertise and what we offer, all of which utilise the infrastructure behind 15 years of game development and integrations,” he said.
1X2's Panorama Platform features content from in-house studios 1X2gaming and Iron Dog Studio, as well as third-party partners such as Leap Gaming and Probability Jones.
”1X2 Network will now encompass all of our sub brands, divisions and partners,” Reid added. “1X2gaming will continue with our ever popular data driven virtual sports, soft games and casino offering, while we have a new independent creative team built under the Iron Dog Studio brand, which will focus on high production casino/slots content.”
Iron Dog’s first six slot releases are Cosmic Crystals, Paint, Cherry Blast, Gifts of Ostara, Treasure of Horus, and Neon Jungle, with 3D European Roulette rolled out this week.
This content has been deployed across 1X2 Network partners in regulated markets including the UK and Italy.
“Iron Dog Studio is producing content of the highest quality that will certainly get attention in the industry,” said Reid. “The brand also has a leg up on much of the competition due to our wide distribution from the 1X2gaming operation, where we currently have 40 integrations including the biggest platforms in the industry.
“Having multiple brands will also allow our customers a range of content with varying different styles and niche targets. With the distribution that the 1X2 Network has established, it allows for a great range of content to be deployed over the coming months from ourselves and our partners.”
