This week sees the launch of a new Microgaming slot pitched by staff, and integrations for the likes of Habanero, Yggdrasil Gaming, FBM Gaming and NSoft.

Isle of Man-based gaming supplier Microgaming has launched a new online slot which has been developed through a staff-powered innovation initiative.

Based on the popular emoticon phenomenon, EmotiCoins is a five reel, 30 payline slot which was developed from an idea pitched by two members of staff, PR manager Anna McChesney and enterprise solutions team member Rob Mercer.

This was part of a staff-powered innovation initiative last year, known at the supplier as the Microgaming Idea Factory.

"As a marketer, to me the use of emoticons in social media and communication is fascinating; they have essentially become a universal language," said McChesney. "92 per cent of the world’s online population use emoticons, so developing a themed game would automatically target the demographic of our operators' players."

EmotiCoins features two brand new wild features in both the base game and free spins. Players can trigger Wild Blast on any spin to grant them five extra Wilds and award a guaranteed win, and landing three scatters in the base game will trigger 10 free spins with Wild Stickers.

"We are super excited to be taking live the first game concept driven from the Idea Factory by staff members who would ordinarily not be involved in game conception," said Lydia Barbara, head of innovation strategy at Microgaming. "And it's a great game to be our first – the game studio did a fantastic job."

Casino games developer Habanero has signed what it described as a landmark deal to integrate its complete portfolio of games with Asian-facing supplier BBIN Group.

Recent releases including Fire Rooster, Bird of Thunder, and Panda Panda, have all been made available to the content aggregator, which provides games to over 500 white label sites.

Habanero's head of sales Daniel Long said the deal was a game-changer for the supplier and one of the company's most important to date.

"By partnering with BBIN, we have significantly expanded our presence around the world, which means even more players will be able to enjoy our games," he said. "Many of them will be a natural fit with BBIN's customers, but it is the diversity and variety of content that will appeal the most."

Bosnia and Herzegovina-based software provider NSoft has rolled out six new virtual games for Nigerian betting operator 9ja Predict.

The games have been released through the supplier's SEVEN platform and include Lucky X, Greyhound Races, Virtual Greyhound Races, and Virtual Horse Races.

"The NSoft web solution is fully adjusted for 9ja Predict web providing an adaptive experience that allows customers to engage and enjoy the highlights of the NSoft offer," said the supplier. "SEVEN platform continues to show its strength and fortifies its position as a stable and strong tool for betshops."

Latin America-focused gaming platform provider Patagonia Entertainment has expanded its games portfolio following a deal with supplier FBM Gaming.

The agreement will see 12 games added to the Patagonia platform, including FBM's popular titles Champion II and Viva Mexico.

"FBM Gaming is a pioneer of video bingo and slots games and we're thrilled to welcome its content onto the Patagonia platform," said Patagonia Entertainment's product manager and games designer Pedro Baldriz. "Our mission is delivering games that people love to play and FBM's products will ensure we live up to that promise."

Yggdrasil Gaming

Lottery betting operator Multilotto has agreed a deal to add content from Malta-based developer Yggdrasil Gaming to its online casino offering.

With full access to Yggdrasil's games catalogue, Multilotto plans to add two of the supplier's titles to its casino tab each week.

This will see popular titles such as Vikings go Berzerk, Holmes and the Stolen Stones, Super Heroes and Power Plant added to the Multilotto Casino, as well as latest release Rainbow Ryan.

Multilotto chief executive Thomas Biro said the casino vertical had proved to be a "massive hit" with players, with new licences in the UK, Ireland and Malta helping the operator expand into new markets.

"Our new partnership with Yggdrasil confirms our status as one of the most exciting casinos on the market and it will boost our already rapid growth," he said.

"Yggdrasil are one of the industry's most respected and acclaimed suppliers, providing games for the world's biggest operators and we're delighted to be able to offer our customers the chance to play their games."

Zitro Interactive

Video bingo specialist Zitro Interactive has had a range of new games certified by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA).

This allows the supplier's Malta-licensed customers including Vera&John, Sportingbet and Betboo to launch 21 bingo titles from Zitro's portfolio.

Among the latest games to be approved are Beetle Bingo, Bingo Dream Bingo Trucks, Loteria Mexicana, Power Mania Force and Wild Rocks.

"At Zitro we are committed to our goal of being among the leading companies in the gaming industry, and that means expanding our presence on the internet," Zitro chief executive Sebastián Salat said.

"With this expansion of our gaming catalogue, operators of online casinos operating under the Malta license will be able to offer their customers all the excitement and entertainment of our successful bingo video games."
