The Stars Group's flagship brand PokerStars is launching a special edition of its fast-paced poker variant Zoom, based around its ambassador and sprinting legend Usain Bolt.
The Zoom Usain Bolt Edition marks the first time that PokerStars has launched celebrity-branded tables and coincides with Bolt's retirement from athletics after a glittering, record-breaking career.
The Zoom format sees players' opponents change every hand, with each user competing against a pool of players rather than a fixed set around one table.
In the new Bolt variant, players can compete in a series of special Road to Glory challenges, reflecting landmarks in Bolt's sprinting career where players can win individual prizes of up to USD$15,000.
"Zoom is the world's fastest poker game and is one of the most popular games as it gives a fast, intense poker experience and that adrenaline rush," PokerStars director of marketing David Carrion said. "Usain Bolt is the ideal fit for this game and having the world’s greatest sprinter on board will bring a whole host of players to the game."
Bolt was named a PokerStars ambassador in June this year and works alongside actor and comedian Kevin Hart to promote poker to an international audience.
