Stockholm-listed casino games developer NetEnt has released its latest online slot game based on the popular emoji ideograms and smileys.

NetEnt’s emojiplanet is a mobile-first game developed in partnership with the Emoji Company & Global Merchandising Services, the owner of the official emoji trademark.

The launch of the game follows the recent release of the 3D computer-animated comedy film, The Emoji Movie, which features the voices of TJ Miller, James Corden, Anna Faris, Christina Aguilera and Patrick Stewart.

The new 5-reel, 6-row video slot – first unveiled by NetEnt at ICE earlier this year - uses the supplier’s Cluster Pays mechanics, and sends players into the midst of an Avalanche with playful music setting the scene for the madness which ensues as emojis cascade down.

emojiplanet has five Emoji features which see the Bomb, Pizza, Kiss Mark, Rocket and Heart emojis all up for grabs as they cascade from the sky causing chaos as they fall.

“The emoji has become a worldwide phenomenon, so we’re pleased to be able to give players the chance to enter their world,” said NetEnt chief product officer Simon Hammon. “The emojiplanet was made to bring fun and laughter to the gaming experience and we’re confident our players will love this unique encounter and everything it offers.”

Shares in NetEnt AB (Co. Data) (STO:NET_B) were trading down 1.03 per cent at SEK77.20 per share in Stockholm early Wednesday.
