New York-listed supplier Scientific Games has successfully rolled out its first online casino games in the regulated Italian iGaming market.

The roll-out marks the first time that SG Interactive games have been made available in Italy, with Betsson's the first to offer the games.

This will be followed by wider distribution to licensed operators in Italy, including Snai, Sisal and bwin.

Eleven games have so far gone live including Spartacus Gladiator of Rome, Rainbow Riches Free Spins and 88 Fortunes.

Branded titles including Monopoly, Wonder Woman, Titanic and other popular licensed brands are also available, with further titles to follow from SG Interactive’s portfolio of game studios: WMS, Bally, Barcrest, Shuffle Master and the newly acquired Red7Mobile.

"We're excited to be the first to launch the new SG Interactive titles in Italy,” said Andrea Rossi, Betsson Group’s managing director of Southern Europe and LatAM. “The company's library has proven to be popular and successful in our other jurisdictions, and we're confident Italian players will be thrilled to have these themes available."

Leigh Nissim, SVP and managing director, B2B for SG Interactive, commented: "It's encouraging to see our games made available to new players in untapped markets.

“This launch is a fantastic milestone for SG Interactive and an indicator that we're constantly looking to expand our online presence in Europe. We look forward to working with our partners in Italy to bring players best-in-class gaming content."

Shares in Scientific Games Corporation (NSQ:SGMS) closed in New York Thursday down 0.87 per cent at $51.20 per share.
