Stockholm-listed supplier NetEnt has paid out a €2.6m jackpot through its Mega Fortune progressive slot game to a player on SlotsMillion.com.
The UK-based player, who has remained anonymous and only joined the site a few days prior to the win, becomes the first ever millionaire created by Alea's 3D virtual reality online casino.
"We are thrilled to have made our first SlotsMillion millionaire, and only a few months after launching in the UK," said Alea co-founder Alexander Tomic. "We love it when our players win big, and this is our biggest to date.
"Players love the thrill and anticipation provided by networked progressive jackpot slots such as Mega Fortune, and SlotsMillion has packed its portfolio with similar titles such as Mega Moolah and Major Moolah."
NetEnt chief product officer Henrik Fagerlund added: "Mega Fortune is a long-time favourite with NetEnt players, so it's no surprise to see it claim the first winner of 2018 and we hope it continues to be a lucky year for everyone who has a spin."
It is NetEnt's first multi-million Euro jackpot payout of the year, having paid out more than €75m in 2017.
