With the Australian federal government due to take action on the promotion of live-odds during sporting events, Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Australia’s largest sports stadium, has banned the promotion of live odds gambling on its scoreboard during Australian Football League (AFL) games.
MCG Trust chairman John Wylie said that the trust had become increasingly concerned at the sharp increase in advertising of gambling agents and products, especially up-to-date odds during matches.
