The Australian state of Victoria has introduced an interim ban order prohibiting the use of earphones on gaming machines, as part of the state’s commitment to foster responsible gambling in gaming venues.


Minister for Gaming Michael O'Brien said that personal audio technology designed to be used on gaming machines to isolate gamblers from the outside world has been banned by the Victorian Coalition Government - despite no gaming machines within the state currently offering the technology yet.
