The Ministry of Interior of the German state of Hesse, which is tasked with issuing online sports betting licenses under the highly contentious State Treaty on Gaming, has issued a call for Expressions of Interest from law firms as disgruntled applicants seek to challenge the licensing procedure.

As previously reported by Gaming Intelligence, the Ministry of Interior was expected to begin issuing licenses in April after approving only 14 of the more than 100 companies which applied for one of the 20 national sports betting licenses.
