European online gaming operator Betclic Everest Group has won a long-running anti-competition dispute that will see rival French operator Pari-Mutuel Urbain (PMU) separate its online horse race betting liquidity from its retail monopoly in France.

Proceedings initiated by Betclic Everest in France’s Competition Commission were concluded today (Tuesday), with PMU formally committing to separating the businesses by September 30th next year.

Under the terms of the deal, a number of additional measures will be enforced to ensure the business remains totally separate, including the need to create a differentiated customer experience on its PMU.fr site.
