UK authorities have arrested seven more footballers from Football League clubs based in the North West of England, and re-arrested six others, as part of an ongoing investigation into match-fixing.
Six people were originally arrested by the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) last December in connection with an investigation into individuals suspected of conspiracy to commit acts of bribery and money laundering relating to conduct during football matches.
