French regulator L’Autorité de regulation des jeux en ligne (ARJEL) has removed its restrictions on football betting to allow players to place wagers on all matches in the country’s top football division, Ligue 1.

Despite initially allowing unrestricted betting on the league from the opening of the French market in 2010, ARJEL introduced restrictions in December 2012 in a bid to protect the integrity of the competition.
