UK-based games developer Betdigital has become the latest supplier to secure a Remote Gambling Software Operating Licence from the Gambling Commission ahead of the introduction of the UK's new gambling licensing regime in October.

The Oxford-headquartered supplier has become one of a growing number of companies to secure a licence, with all those looking to continue to work with UK operators required to secure a licence by January next year.

Among the other suppliers to have been licensed are GTECH, IGT and Scientific Games, as well as Play’n GO, NYX Gaming Group and Realistic Games.

The company supplies products to a number of online and land-based companies including Ladbrokes and Gala Coral, and recently sealed a deal to bring Net Entertainment’s games onto land-based machines.

The company's games will also be made available as HMTL5 titles through the Odobo Marketplace.

Betdigital was also awarded a Core Service Provider Associate certificate by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission.

The company’s chief executive Heath Samples commented that gaining the company’s Remote Gambling Software Operating Licence meant that its customers would be able to continue enjoying Betdigital content in the knowledge that it was compliant with the UK’s new licensing regime.

“As market leaders it’s important to stay ahead of the curve in such a fast-paced and expanding industry,” Samples said.
