Sweden’s state-owned horse racing operator AB Trav och Galopp (ATG) has blamed a glitch in Churchill Downs Incorporated’s (CDI) online wagering software for unusual betting activity that led to high amounts of money being bet on a minor race.

ATG stopped taking bets from Churchill Downs customers last Friday (September 5th) after high amounts were wagered on three horses in a race held in the Östersund municipality.

Players wagered SEK5.1m on the race’s eventual winner Rebeval; SEK9.6m on Penny of Man, which came second, and SEK4.5m on Excellent Launcher, which was unplaced.
