The domestic policy spokesman for the Free Democratic Party (FDP) in the state of Hesse has voiced his party's support for a major overhaul of Germany’s federal online sports betting legislation.

Wolfgang Greilich said that even with the country’s twenty sports betting licences set to be officially awarded on September 18th, the “completely unsuccessful” State Treaty on Gambling (Glücksspielstaatsvertrag) should be totally overhauled as a matter of necessity.
