London-listed online gaming technology and services provider Playtech saw its share price drop by more than 8 per cent Thursday over concerns about its exposure to the Malaysian market.

The fall followed a statement by Malaysia’s Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) chairman Mohamed Sharil Tarmizi, who told a TV audience that online gambling websites sought to gain access to users’ personal information and credit card details for fraudulent purposes.
