The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has awarded a new casino licence to Stadium Casino, a joint venture between operators Greenwood Gaming & Entertainment and the Cordish Companies.

The licence award follows a unanimous decision by the seven-member board at a public meeting Tuesday, and is the fifth and final award of a Category 2 stand-alone casino license permitted under the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act.

The winning bidder is a JV between Greenwood Gaming & Entertainment, which currently operates Parx Casino in Bensalem, and the Cordish Companies, which operates both the Maryland LIVE Casino in Maryland and the Xfinity LIVE entertainment complex in Philadelphia.
