Las Vegas-based sportsbook software provider Metric Gaming has been awarded a remote operating licence by the UK Gambling Commission, allowing it to continue providing its sports betting solutions to clients in the market.

The company explained that the UK was a key jurisdiction to the business, prompting it to move to secure approval following the introduction of the new regulatory regime for iGaming.

“The UK is of course a critical market for Metric, so securing a UK license was key to the company’s continued growth strategy,” Metric chief executive Peter Bertilsson commented.

“We take pride in meeting the Gambling Commission’s high regulatory standards as we continue to provide the UK market with cutting edge innovation and sports wagering entertainment,” he explained.

Metric’s senior vice president of legal affairs Douglas Mishkin said that as a relatively young company the supplier had been eager to demonstrate its commitment to regulatory compliance to the industry.

“Licensure by the UK Gambling Commission is an important step for us, and a testament to the integrity of our business and products,” he said.

Aside from its Las Vegas headquarters, Metric has subsidiary offices on the Isle of Man and in Sweden.
