French Secretary of State for Budget Christian Eckert has spoken publicly about a number of possible changes to the country’s iGaming legislation, including the pooling of online poker liquidity with other European jurisdictions.

A new wide-ranging digital bill, le projet de loi relatif au numérique, is to be introduced next year and will include a number of provisions specifically relating to the online gaming sector. While liquidity sharing has been discussed by French regulator l’Autorité de régulation des jeux en ligne (ARJEL) and a number of its European counterparts, it requires government approval before it can be implemented.
