Casino operator Caesars Entertainment Corporation has claimed that a suit filed by UMB Bank seeking $6.3bn in damages for alleged breaches of the terms of first-lien notes of its operating subsidiary is “without merit” and is seeking an injunction to prevent similar lawsuits.

In the suit, filed Monday in Manhattan federal court, UMB claims that Caesars has breached the terms of first-lien creditor notes and the US Trust Indenture Act by voiding a guarantee of the operating unit’s debt obligations.
