The High Court of New Zealand has overturned a government decision to cut funding for the Problem Gambling Foundation of New Zealand (PGFNZ), the country’s largest body focused on the treatment of gambling addicts.

The decision came more than a year after the New Zealand government decided to switch to regional Asian service providers for Auckland and the Canterbury/West Coast regions following a request for proposals in 2013.
