Colombian police have made a number of arrests and shut down five illegal betting shops as the country’s long-awaited crackdown on unlicensed gambling businesses finally begins.

All arrests and establishments were based in the city of Valledupar, with gambling regulator Coljuegos and the Secretariat of Government of the Mayor of Valledupar supporting the police in the operation.
