Asian online gaming operator Dafabet has denied any links to an illegal gambling business active in China after a former employee of the company was extradited from the Philippines for his part in the operation.

Wang Bo, who left Dafabet in 2012, was extradited to China as part of a crackdown by police in the Heilongjiang province in which more than RMB80m (€11.49m) was seized and bank accounts with funds totalling RMB230m frozen. A total of 125 people are said to have been arrested, according to Chinese media reports.

The authorities allege that gamblers in up to 10 Chinese provinces were involved in the gambling ring, with the site used to gamble widely named as Dafabet or dafa888 by Chinese news outlets...
